Under the knife

Jeremy decided to go in for a shave while we were in Marrakech, needing variety from the shopping and sweating in the Medina. At less than $4, this is a irresistible pleasure — well, maybe until you see the blade.

The process began with a robust, but cold lather. Jeremy’s first straight razor shave was a bit terrifying, he held his breath the whole time we think! The barber checked his face 3 times for any stray stubble, from every direction and angle.

When he was through, Eva told the barber he looked at least 5 years younger — not sure if he understood that, but a good experience none the less.

    That’s very brave of Jeremy. Congrats! I’m not sure my husband would go for that experience. We’ve seen one too many gangster movies, I think.

    Nice! D had his head shaved and then shoved into a sink and scrubbed with a wire brush. He said it hurt, hehe.

    Came across this post WAY late, but had to comment because a friend of mine had a very similar experience, but his took place in Varanasi, India, next to the Ganges River. His shave took a turn for the weird, though, when it turned into an impromptu body massage. I’ve never seen somebody look so uncomfortable before! At least Jeremy didn’t have to deal with that. :-0
