Little Town of the Dead

This colorful, festive cemetery is along the route to the Cascadas de Chiflón in Chiapas. Each grave was carefully tended to with fresh paint, colorful tiles, paper flowers and small trinkets. It’s interesting to compare European and Hispanic views about death and the passing of loved ones. The celebration, joy, color and life that is evident in Mexican Cemeteries and especially during festivals like the Dia de los Muertos is completely the opposite of cold, solemn, imposing and gray cemeteries in Europe and America.

Hey Guys! Way to go. You sure seem to be making it the trip of a lifetime! How could it not be right? I am impressed with all of the locations that you are getting too just in Mexico. I have been in Aquas Caliente for the dia de la muerta and I cannot remember having as much fun. Anyway, keep on posting the great updates to your trip and I will keep on being jealous!
